Description
Fort Pulaski was completed prior to the Civil War. The Union Army captured the fort using rifle cannons which demonstrated that brick fortifications had become obsolete.
This photo shows part of the exterior walls and moat of the fort. Three visitors are crossing the foot bridge into the fort.
